Safety Information
Read the TimberBite instructions before use. Chainsaws and cutting chains can cause serious injury.
Before sharpening
- Turn the chainsaw off and let it cool completely.
- Disconnect the spark plug or remove the battery so the saw cannot start.
- Stabilize the saw and bar on a firm surface.
- Wear suitable eye protection and cut-resistant gloves.
- Inspect the chain. Do not sharpen a cracked, bent, heavily damaged, or otherwise unsafe chain.
Using TimberBite
- Mount the sharpener securely on the bar and use the included 5 mm grinding head as instructed.
- Keep hands clear of sharp cutters and moving parts.
- Use light, steady pressure. Do not remove excessive material from a cutter.
- Keep the work area dry, well lit, and away from children and bystanders.
- Stop if the tool shifts, binds, or appears damaged.
After sharpening
Remove TimberBite before operating the chainsaw. Confirm that the chain is correctly tensioned and lubricated and that all guards and covers are installed. Follow the chainsaw and chain manufacturers’ operating and maintenance instructions.
Have a damaged chain inspected or replaced by a qualified professional. TimberBite is a maintenance aid and does not replace safe chainsaw operation or professional service.
